Julstro Method of Muscular Therapy, developed by Julie Donnelly, is a blending of numerous deep-muscle massage techniques.  Extensive medical research has proven muscle spasms refer pain and numbness to areas far from the source of the pain. Muscles are the only focus at Julstro. Specifically, how muscles impact the joints and nerves of the body. A muscle originates on one bone, crosses over a joint, and inserts on another bone (usually at the joint). When the muscle is shortened by repetitive strain, or a trauma, the spasm is pulling on the joint.  This causes a strain on the joint. Also, muscles cross over nerves, or the nerves go directly through the muscles. When the muscle is tight it impinges on the nerve. The impingement can affect the impulses to the muscles or organs that are served by that nerve.

Since 1989, Julie has been dedicated to helping people get pain relief. She has been teaching therapists, office clients, and online “clients” how to find the source of pain.  Then she shows them how to treat the spasms to release muscle tension. I’ve tried them all…tennis balls, squash ball, golf ball, bean bags, bagged marbles, assorted types from sports stores, one from local therapy center…you name it, I probably tried it! None of them really were quite ‘right’…either too hard, too soft, too large diameter or too small.

But the Trigger Point Therapy ball did the trick!!! After two self- sessions on my right hip (side) and lower back, the knots in my right hip were gone!! I can feel the ball “dig” into the hip joint with hard pressure and not bruise the muscles. I started out using the ball and bamboo stick 3-4 times a day and now down to maybe once a day to none!!
