I was in NY this weekend and made it out on the last Amtrak train before the system was closed. I’m safely in North Carolina now, but my family has been in the dark since 5PM and who knows when they will get power back. I’m happy that they heat with a wood stove, and they have ample wood so they will be warm. The storm will be heading up to where my son lives, but fortunately he also heats with wood, and I know he’s prepared with lots of candles and flashlights. He’s a firefighter so I’m sure he’s going to be busy, and I’m praying he’ll be safe.
